Same error here, Did you get any update on how you resolve?tiaBarryNo and then I got hit with full screen 30 second video ads that I could not skip while playing solitaire so I reverted back to Windows 7. Is nice to have my media center back and the ability to block data mining that is prevalent in every aspect of windows10. The removal of media center and many of the features is to force you to purchase all media from the windows store and to allow them to monitor everything you watch, listen to, browse, download and play. Windows 10 appears to be an illegal operating systemand the only way to opt out is to go back to windows 7 since many of the data mining features appear in windows 8 just not as integrated.I believe there has to be a way to turn it all off but it has not been made easily accessible. I can't see government or corporate users allowing data mining on their systems.

I can run sfc without errors, but I still can't play DVDs on Windows 10 Pro with the DVD Player app that was installed because I upgraded from 8.1 with Media Centre. If this is a case of a bad store download, then there's nothing I seem able to do aboutit apart from paying for the DVD player app as part of a clean install. I'd be very disappointed if I did this without it resolving the problem. What is most annoying is the lack of any diagnostics from the DVD Player app, apart from one generic error message. I noticed this app has been rated as just 1 star by the store reviewers, who are all reporting similar problems.

Even allowing for the factthat happy users don't bother to write reviews, there does seem to be an issue that needs addressing here. As a matter of fact, Vijay, things got even worse with Windows DVD Player. When I first installed Windows 10, from Win7 Home Premium, at least the Win DVD Player that came with Win10 played the FBI warning and the trailers. Never the movie, and never thoseso-called 'full screen' DVDs, however.I tried again now, after our first big Windows Update, and absolutely nothing plays.I checked to make sure the update for Windows DVD Player was installed. It is.Then, in spite of the fact that this step seemed pointless, with so many people having the same problem, what the heck, I ran sfc /scannow from the command line (as administrator).

It ran through all its checks with no problems found. So, what changed in that first Windows Update? I have to assume SOMETHING further messed up a bad app, right?

How is it that I continue to see nothing from Microsoft even acknowledging that there's a problem? That's the part I don't understand. Can't youguys find the software types that created Windows Media Center, which was quite excellent, and beg them for help? Someone at Microsoft really does understand how DVDs are decoded, I have to believe.
